Revitalization Institute Opens Shop

Storm Cunningham launched the nonprofit Revitalization Institute™ in April 2004. Based on principles outlined in Cunningham’s 2002 book The Restoration Economy: The Greatest New Growth Frontier (see review, EBN Vol. 12, No. 2), the Revitalization Institute’s mission is “to advance restorative development of communities and natural resources worldwide.” Their Web site describes it as an association of restoration, remediation, and revitalization professionals. A number of well-known green-building proponents advise the organization’s operations, including John Knott, Jr., CEO of the Noisette Company, who chairs the executive council, and William Reed, vice president of Natural Logic, who chairs the technical council.
