New Options in Office Seating

Several manufacturers featured new office chairs with strong environmental pedigrees at the 2005 NeoCon^® tradeshow in Chicago. Following in the footsteps of Herman Miller’s Mirra chair, launched in 2003 (see EBN Vol. 12, No. 6), and Steelcase’s Think™ chair from 2004, several chairs were designed based on the Cradle-to-Cradle™ protocol from McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC)—see the related article on page 4. All the new offerings are, or will soon be, Greenguard™ certified for low chemical emissions, and all are priced at the middle to low range for office seating.
