Greenguard Launches Mold Protection Program

The Greenguard Environmental Institute, Inc. (GEI) has launched the Mold Protection Program™, the nation’s first program to certify the design, construction, and operation of buildings for protection against mold. “We hear so much about the financial costs of mold, including the loss of rent along with the costly cleanups that result,” says Carl Smith, CEO and executive director of GEI. “Prevention through sound design, building, and maintenance practices can help avert risk from all but the most catastrophic instances of water-related damage.”
