Mitsubishi Jet Towel Hand Dryer

Now Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has upped that ante with a dryer that provides a 5- to 6-second drying time along with much quieter operation and capture of the water droplets blown off users’ hands. The Jet Towel is different than American hand dryers in that users insert their hands into the unit (see photo) to dry them, according to Neil Warr of Pacarc, LLC, Jet Towel’s sole U.S. distributor. Water blown off users’ hands by dual airstreams is captured in a small vessel within the unit and periodically dumped into a sink as part of regular restroom maintenance. By capturing the washwater, the Jet Towel solves one of the concerns raised about the XLerator by commercial cleaning expert Stephen Ashkin, of the Ashkin Group, LLC, in Bloomington, Indiana: that germs could be atomized and distributed throughout the restroom.
