Changing Practices
I just finished reading your excellent article "Designing for Adaptation" (see
EBN Sept. 2009) and I want you to know that I think it is one of the best articles on the rationale for green building practices I have ever read. Thank you for this valuable resource. I have benefited from
EBN immensely over the past few years and want you to know that I rely on your analyses, evaluations and recommendations, like last month's article on foam insulation (see
EBN Aug. 2009). It immediately changed my building practice to not use polystyrene foam until the manufacturers quit using the fire retardant chemicals. We will use spray polyurethane foam on walls, foundations and roofs, and polyurethane-based structural insulated panels for walls.
