This book presents the history of sprawl in America, describing its impacts as well as the search for alternatives. Gillham digs into the density debate presenting various arguments and backing them with statistics whenever possible. Focused more on the problem than the solution, Gillham's conclusion is bleak, but he does concede there must be a limit to suburbanization.
