Intelligent Skins

by Michael Wigginton;  Jude Harris

This book presents the principles of the design of the facade in terms of its ability to respond to external changes and internal demands. It considers the facade in terms of the biological notions of intelligence and response as demonstrated by the human skin. International case studies (mostly from Europe) comprise over two-thirds of the book. One unfortunate drawback of the case studies is that the diagrams appear to come straight from the source material, so they are not consistently detailed and labeled.
