Global Restoration Network (GRN) is a database and website portal to information about ecological restoration, which is defined by the Society for Ecological Restoration International as “the process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged, or destroyed... (until) it contains sufficient biotic and abiotic resources to continue its development without further assistance or subsidy." Case studies, which include successes and failures alike, compose the bulk of the website and are organized in a scientific manner according to biome, ecosystem, geographic region, and the pre-disturbance condition of the area. Sponsored by both the ecological restoration company Biohabitats as well as Chevron, GRN could truly be the global go-to place for ecological restoration.
