Building with Vision is the second in a 3-part series promoting wood optimization and substitution. The other two address wood use in paper and packaging materials. This book addresses very cogently the potential conflicts between natural building on the one hand and the higher-tech, manufactured approaches reflected in recycled plastics and steel studs on the other. While the book has a strong philosophical bent, protection of forests through better use of wood products in construction and substitution of nonwood alternatives, there is a realism reflected throughout that makes the book relevant to a wide audience of residential builders and designers.
