Green Development Best Practices Using case studies of green communities and buildings -- including your current or dream project -- this course will explore strategies for adding social, economic and environmental value to a site, building or community. We will assess the green DNA of locations and buildings, and apply biodynamic planning and design tools to demonstrate practical and cost-effective approaches to greening the built environment in different bioclimatic settings. Participants will openly discuss their needs, expereinces and aspirations while the class takes a practical, step-by-step tour through the world of green planning, design, construction, sales and operations. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the best practices that result in desirable green residential and commercial real estate and developments. A basic understanding of building design and construction strategies is helpful for this course. Intermediate to Professional.
