GRTs one-day LEED Green Associate Exam Prep provides a comprehensive summary of the information needed to pass the LEED Green Associate exam. Our one-day training is ideal if you want to save time in class and save money on transportation costs. Will begin with an overview of the LEED Program and various rating systems with a concentration on the new weighting of prerequisites, credits, and regional priority credits. This part also reviews the implementation of the LEED Program through the integrated design process as well as cost assessment tools to evaluate sustainable strategies. An overview of the design process and project establishment will close part 1. In the second part, we will focus on the construct of a LEED Project. This part will review in detail some of the categories of the LEED Program: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, and Energy & Atmosphere. A special focus will be on the Energy Efficiency category: reviewing Building Envelope & Climate Assessments, insulation systems, foundations and framing types, HVAC types and design methods, and lighting and daylighting strategies. In the final part, we will complete the last two categories of the LEED Program. The first of these is Materials & Resources with a focus on material performance criteria required by LEED. This part will review Indoor Environmental Quality strategies and requirements including ventilation, thermal and lighting controls, and toxins in building materials. The part will also review the construction and operations phases of a LEED Project, the criteria of building commissioning, and measurement and tracking tools to evaluate performance. This part will close with a review of the referenced standards included in the LEED Program with a brief overview of their applicability and focus. There will be time allotted for questions. Breakfast and lunch provided. Participants will receive a workbook with presentations, sample questions, and additional resources. Completion of this class makes you eligible to take the LEED Green Associate exam. Eight (8) AIA/CES Sustainable Design LU and 8 LEED AP CE are offered for attending this training. All participants receive a certificate of completion that they can use to fulfill continuing education (CE) requirements of other professional certifications. This training will be led by The Green Roundtables Green Building Consultants that has extensive experience teaching the material and implementing it in green building and LEED projects.
