BRATTLEBORO, VT, August 17, 2009—Since LEEDuser launched last month as a new website dedicated to providing real-world advice for teams working on LEED certification projects, people have flocked to the site. Over 1,500 people have signed up at www.LEEDuser.com, which is free during a beta period through September 2009.

Responding to the need for practical how-to help with the new LEED 2009 rating systems, BuildingGreen, LLC, launched the site in July with the support of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

This new website, at www.LEEDuser.com, provides credit-by-credit guidance for teams working on LEED certification. Included are clear descriptions of credit requirements, tips to streamline LEED submissions, online calculators, and online user forums related to specific credits. LEEDuser facilitates LEED certification for projects using the five recently launched LEED 2009 rating systems: New Construction, Core & Shell, Schools, Commercial Interiors, and Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance.

The stream of new users on the site is particularly impressive considering that it’s under construction. BuildingGreen President and long-time LEED faculty member Nadav Malin, LEED AP, noted that the site has been launched in its beta period covering the most difficult of the LEED credits—such as ones on energy efficiency, stormwater management, and light pollution reduction. “Our team is adding more credits and more advice on a daily basis,” said Malin, encouraging teams to check back as the site grows, and to add their comments and questions through the site’s credit-by-credit commenting feature.

LEEDuser will be launched as a subscription service starting in October 2009 at www.LEEDuser.com. “LEED 2009 has really changed the LEED game,” said Malin, and “the new LEED Online system continues to evolve. We’ll stay on top of those changes just as if we were a part of your LEED project team.”
