Presenters

Peter Rumsey is widely recognized as an innovator in the energy-efficiency field.  He has designed more LEED Platinum, Zero Energy and radiant-cooled buildings than any other engineer in the United States. He is an ASHRAE Fellow and Senior Fellow of Rocky Mountain Institute.  He is a lecturer at Stanford University and has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from U.C. Berkeley.  Peter founded Rumsey Engineers in 1998, which was acquired by Integral Group in 2009. He then served as Integral’s West Coast Director and Chief Technology Officer. He has consulted to venture capital firms in Silicon Valley and several successful startups. He has worked worldwide, consulting in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Peter is now CEO and Founder of Point Energy Innovations, a company that is redefining the simple and cost-effective delivery of net-zero and high-performance buildings with better health and comfort for the occupants and higher returns for building owners and developers.

Panama Bartholomy is the Director of the Building Decarbonization Coalition, a cross-sectoral initiative to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from the built environment. Previously he directed the Investor Confidence Project, where he worked to unlock capital markets for energy-efficiency project development.

Panama was the Advisor on Energy and Natural Resources to California Assembly Speaker John A. Perez. He has served as Deputy Director of the California Energy Commission’s Efficiency and Renewables Division and advisor for Chairwomen Douglas and Pfannenstiel.  He has worked for the California Conservation Corps on vocational environmental education, and ran the Sustainable Schools program for the Division of the State Architect. Panama served on the City of Sacramento Planning Commission and the County of Sacramento Environmental Commission, and is a former board member on the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and past president of the Northern California Chapter of the USGBC.
