Humabuilt Wheatboard-Core Doors

The Lake Oswego, Oregon company Humabuilt™ is marketing Wheatboard™-core interior doors, which are available in a wide variety of styles, sizes, wood-veneer species, and paint-grade finishes. The core is a stable, formaldehyde-free Wheatboard made from waste agricultural fiber (chopped wheatstraw) bound with waterproof, nonformaldehyle, MDI binder. Lag-bolt construction at the door edges strengthens the styles and rails. FSC-certified veneers are available, though the doors themselves have not been chain-of-custody certified. Ultra-low-VOC water-based adhesives are used for joining components and veneers.
