Curtainwall and 700 Series Board Insulations

Owens Corning makes several rigid and semi-rigid fiberglass board products for commercial applications. The company’s semi-rigid curtainwall insulation is designed to work with glass, metal, or brick spandral systems. It has an R-value of 4.3 per inch, 2.25 pounds per cubic foot (pcf) density, a noise reduction coefficient of 1.0 for a 2” panel, and is available in 1” to 4” inch thicknesses with or without a foil-reinforced kraft vapor retarder. The 700 series is a available in rigid or semi-rigid boards with R-values from 4.0 to 4.3 and densities from 1.5 to 6.0 pcf. These boards contain 40% recycled content (10% post-consumer) as certified by SCS. The product is made with a urea-extended phenol formaldehyde binder, but is Greenguard certified with formaldehyde levels below 0.05 ppm.
