Submission schedule for multiple buildings

November 26, 2012

We are certifying 4 buildings on a campus. They all belong to the same owner and are being built under the same construction contract. However, connstruction of 1 of these buildings will only be finished 2 months after the 3 others.

Can we submit the documentation for the 3 buildings that will be concluded first or we have to wait to submit the 4 buildings all together?

Thanks

LEED Certification in an existing artificial island

November 26, 2012

We have a Project in an existing artificial/man-made island with a fully developed infrastructure. Please further confirm if this type of project is eligible for LEED NC 2009 certification or any other LEED Certification.

We have a building that has apartments only, do we have to add visitors to our FTE calculation?

FTE for a cinema and fitness

November 20, 2012

I am working on a Core&Shell shopping mall project. There are a few different types of spaces that among others include cinema and fitness. What are the default occupancy numbers for these spaces? Can I clasify them as "retail, general" or "retail or servis" (according to table 1 of CS Appendix 1)?

AGMBC for LEED-H?

November 16, 2012

Hello,
I am working on the possible LEED Certification for a master planned community with around 8,000 units. Would it be possible to prototype certain model homes, have them certified, and then ensure that all of the houses that match that house in spec are also LEED Certified to the same level?

LEED boundary to include displaced parking lot?

LEED boundary to include displaced parking lot?

November 16, 2012

My project is a new residential tower (with an underground parking garage), which will be constructed on an existing parking lot that serves an adjacent residential tower. Because the adjacent residential tower will lose their parking lot, my project will be constructing a new parking lot (along with new green space) in the area between the two buildings. I am unsure if the new parking lot should be included in my LEED site boundary, seeing as it does not serve our building residents or support our building operations. However, the new green space will be accessible to residents of both buildings and I feel that it therefore should be included in our LEED site boundary. Any advice on drawing the site boundary would be appreciated!

LEED for Homes Window SHGC

LEED for Homes Window SHGC

November 16, 2012

I am working on a project in a zone 1 climate. Currently our house shows that it has a 34% window to floor area ratio (WFA). After doing the adjustment for SHGC for exceeding an 18% WFA, our final SHGC that we must meet is 0.14.

First, do we need to find a product with an SHGC less than 0.14 to get credit? Secondly, most of our windows are placed in areas with deep overhangs. These windows will never receive direct sunlight no matter what time of year it is. Do we have to count the window area in the overhangs? Seems like if the intent is to reduce solar heat gain, then we would be able to omit these from the WFA calculation.

Simple re-submittal question

November 16, 2012

Hi all. I just re-submitted a number of credits that were rejected the first time around. I did NOT re-submit the credits and prerequisites that were approved the first time, assuming those are already good to go and don't need to be seen again. Did I do the right thing?
