How can an Editor delete, hide or updated posts that others create.  We need to take down some of the test posts but there may be cases where something posted is incorrect or not appropriate.   When a BIT Expert is assigned to a Best Practice, is there a setting that will send them an email any time a new question is added to their BP.  During... Hello all,

I need future weather files for a project. We are looking at three years, 2050, 2075, and 2095 using two climate change scenarios, low emissions, and high emissions. I have seen ARUP's Weathershift site that uses RCP 8.5 and RCP 4.5. Are we assuming that 2.6 is not achievable? I would have used this as a low emissions scenario... Read more

Does anyone have a "healthy material" exterior bleacher benchtop (beyond natural wood or metal) recommendation for a public high school track and field?

How do we discern between fiberglass, recycled plastic or HPDE?  Is there a rule of thumb on how to advocate for specifying a "not as bad" material?

The project is in a coastal... Read more

Hi all,

We've had a number of clients in the states surrounding Texas that have been hit with really high natural gas bills for February. Some as high as $2.00+/therm. Many are healthcare facilities.  Has anyone seen any federal, state, or utility relief programs that are assisting customers with these bills?

Thanks,

Adam... Read more

Hello, Green Gurus!

ICYMI, this washington post piece reminded me of our summit conversation last Friday about architecture's/SDL's role in reimagining the world post-covid through innovating our practice.

Does having a rating system change the conversation? How well defined are the metrics for resilience? How to measure success? Does the RELi Rating System provide a good way to define resilience. How many are using the system and have they noticed a growing level of understanding because there is a rating system? How to talk to clients about it?... Read more

The overwhelming majority of wallcoverings are flexible vinyl, laden with all the life-cycle concerns that come with PVC. Phthalates are not bound in the material and can slough off in dust, exposing occupants during everyday work or play.... Read more

Chlorine is used to make PVC and PVC... Read more

Dear all,

For a specific existing building application, we are looking for a half inch insulating glazing unit, preferably with low-e coating. Based on my research, 5/8" seems to be doable (1/8" glass + 3/8" air gap + 1/8" glass) but I'm yet to find a viable 1/2" solution. Have you come across any on your projects? Thanks for your...
