Hi MEP Leaders,

I would not normally post a job on this forum, but Placetailor is seeking to hire a mechanical engineer.  They are one of only two truly sustainable developers that I've ever heard of.  They are an integrated developer / builder / design firm that builds everything they touch to Passive House and carbon neutral standards... Within the confines of the BuildingGreen safe space, I wanted to share the Forced Labor in the Building Material Supply Chain Mitigation Framework I shared at the 3/1 First Friday Fika. The intent is for this document to become public, but we are working through some permissions and final editing logistics. The project was collaborative... Read more

Hello,

As with most people I feel some what helpless about what the next 4 years will bring. Heather Clark, Senior Director for Building Sector Climate Policy at The White House thinks that a big bill will be presented in the new year and one of the small items in there will be the axing of the Inflation Reduction Act. My firm didn't have representation at the winter summit, but I've just read the report (thank you, RoseAnn!), and was really glad to see there was conversation around mass timber. I'd love to talk with anyone who was involved in that roundtable to get a deeper download about the discussion. We've been doing a lot of mass timber buildings and... Read more

Anyone aware of tools or workflows for modeling of a specific outdoor space and effective surface temperatures?  We've done a goodly amoutn of microclimate simulations, but never explicitly factored in the ground surface, in terms of emissivity and other related factors.

Do any of you out there know of current/recent owners executing performance... Read more

Hi! Just saw this White House press release stating that federal suppliers will need to report on scope 1 & 2, and relevant scope 3 emissions and climate-related financial risks as well as set science-based emission reduction targets.
