We've put together an infographic that offers a brief rundown of a bunch of programs and tools that help firms promote equity. The idea for this came out of the SDL Winter Summit, so thanks to those who were there and pushed us to create this resource!

All,

I'm looking for a quick methodology to estimate GHG emissions from refrigerants on a per SF basis. Are there any benchmark studies or quick calculators similar to the embodied carbon study? https://carbonleadershipforum.org/embodied-carbon-benchmark-study-1/

Thanks,

I'm hoping that some of you know someone with strong energy modeling skills who is looking for a job!  Moseley Architects is recruiting for a full time energy modeler (ideally either in our Richmond, VA or Raleigh NC office) to help us continue to press forward with understanding and reducing the energy impacts of our designs.  The job... We are designing a mass timber building and are closing in on selecting our mass timber supplier.  One supplier is offering FSC wood and the other is offering PEFC.  I don't know enough about PEFC to make a clear recommendation to the client about how it compares to FSC.  I understand that PEFC endorsed SFI, so that concerns me... Last summer I shared a request here for folks to take a survey we had open that aimed to understand how architects and engineers are (or aren't) using climate projections to inform design. This white paper, written in collaboration with HGA and the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership, reports on the results of that research. ... Read more

I am diving back into Sefaira for the first time in a while, and the program still seems to be missing the ability to account for automatic daylight dimming in energy savings. Previously I had used an LPD reduction equivalent to emulate the savings automatic dimming would provide. Has anyone done a similar work-around?
