So every year about this time I get to spend many lovely moments with our AIA 2030 Reporting data. In order to make the data useful the CBECS baselines/National baselines aren't great in telling us how we did.
For about half our 15 projects that we report in the average year - performing arts, convention, data science schools, etc - a... Read more

I am wondering how architectural firms plan to close the gap to zero in the next few years.
Owner's dictate outcomes and the typical owner is not committed to zero - even when sustainability is a focus of the project.
We can present solar-ready designs, all electric buildings, geothermal, etc. but there is still quite a gap to... Read more

We are looking at installing an aerobic biodigester in a commercial kitchen for an office client that is VERY concerned about zero waste. Basically, this system takes food waste, treats it with micro-organisms to remove organic matter, and turns it into water of high enough quality to go straight to the sewer. The manufacturer we are looking... Read more

Hey Team,
Has anyone had experience either taking or delivering a Carbon Cure CEU that ISN'T from Carbon Cure? We have a project for which Carbon Cure is a really good option to reduce embodied carbon, but the client has now started having second thoughts and we're looking to get them a CEU on it that isn't from Carbon Cure directly so... Has anyone used the new 3M Smog-Eating Granules on a roof before? Malarkey and Soprema are offering this as an option for their roof shingles. Seems like a great technology for urban areas, but I'd be curious to see if anyone here has actually successfully specified and installed it.
