A brief non-technical rant about OneClick LCA - from someone who is not actually USING the tool, but lobbying for its access. Wondering if you all have better intel, or if it is just me.
We are working on a number of projects for which te teams are using OneClick LCA - for some cases it has a better international data set than others. ... Read more

Colleagues:
I "lurk" on the list serve of the American Physical Plant Administrators. I wanted to share a posting from that forum:
Hi All,
Two questions here: wondering if any Universities in the Pacific Northwest have a thermal comfort standard they adhere to for new building design on campus? UBC is currently undertaking... Read more

Last year I was approached by Green Advantage, remember them from like 2005? There has been a LEED innovation credit for as long as I can remember.
Has anyone seen employed Green Advantage recently? Is anyone asking for it?
Do you see value in GCs/CMs/trades having this training... Read more

Greetings Gurus!! I'm super excited to invite you all to help each other :)
As many of you know, BuildingEase (a completely free tool!) has been born this year, the newest function we just launched is the Crowdsourcing function.

Hello Green Gurus,
Now is a pivotal moment. Net Zero Stretch Code legislation has been proposed in the Massachusetts House and Senate, and draft code language is currently being developed by the Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS). The Net Zero Stretch Code is currently the greatest single opportunity to support reduced... Read more

On a large sports project, we worked with the structural engineer to spec low carbon / high SCM concrete mixes. Much of the floor area will be sealed and polished concrete, and a concrete sub is pushing back on the SCMs saying they should not be above 20% (with a preference for 0%) for the polish to finish properly, per the manufacturer. Anyone... Read more

It may take hundreds or thousands of years to return to pre-industrial-age levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, but the loss of animal and plant species that is occurring today is, practically speaking, irreversible. It will take millions of years for evolution to fill the ecological niches being vacated by extinctions and restore healthy... Read more

Hello,
We’re looking for Design Energy Code Equivalents for Chinese commercial energy codes. Do any of you have any good sources? I’ve only found data comparing ASHRAE 90.1 2013 to the Chinese Code at that time. We understand the Chinese code require a 65-75% energy savings over the baseline but don’t have good information for defining... Read more

Hi Carbon Working Group,
It’s been a while since our last online meeting on 3/31 –- admittedly, a bit too long -- so I wanted to share some updates. You might have seen Candice Pearson’s 5/13 post about the structure of the Contractor’s Commitment and how it’s evolving into a set of guidelines available not only to our SCL Group but to... Hello, All,
Does anyone have experience with cove.tool (https://covetool.com/)? Perhaps for those projects that may not get fully modeled, or as a tool to help set baselines? It came across our radar recently, and I'm wondering if the subscription might be worth a try.
Thanks!
