Hi All,
We have a project in design with a large AV display for updating data. Anyone know of an AV team that thinks through both visual /acoustic performance in conjunction with energy use and environmental impact of the display? Replies on the peer networks hub or directly to me at alk@dskap.com work.
Thank you!

Hi Sages,
Thanks to those who filled out the survey and helped set our agenda for Monday's meeting. We know that this time doesn't work for everyone (no time could, of course), so we'll be alternating times each month. The April meeting will be Thursday, 4/11 at 3:00 eastern.
The agenda is here. It also has the Zoom link (in case... Read more

Hi All,
I meant to put this is in Green Gurus and put it in SAL instead. Rookie mistake.
After this long winter, who is up for some fierce creativity and friendly competition internal to your company or between Green Gurus? What do you think of a location agnostic, virtual, Sustainability Scavenger Hunt from Earth Day to Mother'... Read more

Hello - Other than hiring an acoustic consultant, I am wondering what in-house tools you are using internally at the design stage for modelling acoustic performance?
Thanks, Mona

Dear SDLers,

The declaration was launched last Friday as part of a week of events surrounding the UN Climate Action Summit in New York. Like others around the world, the week of global... Read more

Beginning this year, Miller Hull will not only continue to quantify the upfront embodied carbon of every project we finish through construction, but now purchase third-party certified carbon offsets equivalent to one-third of the project’s impact. Great design is no longer enough - we must take responsibility for our architectural impact in the... Read more

Hello Green Gurus! We are diving deep into our carbon metrics this year and are finalizing some of our emissions factors for our Scope 1 and 2 emissions and in a few more months Scope 3. I'm hoping this brain trust has some recent knowledge to share on this topic. What we've found is there's a fairly big variance in what we've seen in published... Read more

Our specification team is currently piloting and testing new software to replace E-specs without an easy favorite, and would really love to know what other firms are using.
First question - what software does your firm use for specifications and why?
Second question - would you/your specifier be willing to chat with ours about it... Read more

Hi all,
Just like many of you, our firm is dedicated to increasing representation in the professions and through its relationship to the AIA Large Firm Round Table was able to access a National Organization of Minority Architects Fellow this summer. We’re loving our work with Himesh thus far, but it’s unclear whether we have the workload... Read more

For a number of years a colleague and I have been teaching a course about sustainability and water in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania's architectural school (PennDesign). This year we're hoping to bring a few new opinions to the table for at the same time as we broaden the discussion. Because the class will be virtual again... Read more

I am wanting to take the pulse of this group on behalf of a manufacturer who has asked us a similar question.
The company in question makes wood products and has had FSC CoC for over a decade. Recently, they are encountering issues with sourcing FSC for about 50% of the wood species they offer. There just aren't FSC sources available.... Read more

Hi all,
We recently learned that Mass Dept of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) along with a few other state agencies are looking to offer grants for wastewater heat recovery implemented into projects.
