Hi Green Gurus,
A "fun" take-away from the sustainable MEP Leaders Summit (just ended today):
Inspired by Passive House, we are embarking on a campaign: "Low Load Buildings Are SEXY".
One idea we have is: what if the AIA design awards set limits on metrics like heating loads to meet basic eligibility?
If you have... Read more

Our local engineers aren't sure how it actually performs and worry it may not meet code requirements for separation between exhaust and intake. Has anyone else used... Read more

Has anyone used the new 3M Smog-Eating Granules on a roof before? Malarkey and Soprema are offering this as an option for their roof shingles. Seems like a great technology for urban areas, but I'd be curious to see if anyone here has actually successfully specified and installed it.

Basically, this system takes food waste, treats it with micro-organisms to remove organic matter, and turns it into water of high enough quality to go straight to the sewer. The manufacturer we are looking... Read more
