All,
My team at WSP has a pretty awesome senior position available and I wanted to bring it the group's attention as we try to get the word out. The role is to lead our Sustainable Design Analytics group (part of our Built Ecology team), ideally based in CA or NYC, but open to wherever good candidates may be. If anyone knows someone that... Hi all,
Following the SCL Summit back in November, the Waste Subgroup agreed to complete a Model Waste Management Plan to serve as a contractor commitment to reduce construction waste. I distributed the attached (very rough) draft back in Jan., and received some good feedback via forum comments.
We would like to set up a call to... Read more

Hello all,
We are looking at ways we can use our specs to reduce toxicity in projects and one step towards that goal may be to require RoHS compliant lighting, switches, alarms, meters, etc., as required by the Small Electrical Components exception in the Living Building Challenge. Based on LBC projects I have been involved with, it... Read more

Hi all: I'm looking for experience, insight, or advice as it relates to ISO 14001. I know it is more popular internationally than in the US, and I am trying to ascertain if the the value-add is greater than the cost and effort. Buildings aren’t garbage. But you wouldn’t know it by examining the way the AEC industry works.
We typically design buildings for a single, limited purpose. We build them partly out of plastics that can’t be readily recycled. We choose diverse materials... Read more

Hi all,
I've been working on a LEED project in California for months and our energy modeler wants to use the LI 10480 Title 24 2019 pipeline to demonstrate compliance under LEEDv4. Only problem is, I've never done it that way before, and our modeler and I are consistently speaking in different languages. Anyone done a project under this... Read more

Hello Sustainable Construction Leaders,
In years past, we've hosted an SCL Summit the day before Greenbuild. We'd like to get back to that model, but we also know that there are many other demands on your time. Before we get too far into planning we're asking you to please fill out this quick survey to let us know if you could/would... Read more

Dear Colleagues:
This is a request from AIA COTE Advocacy to sign another petition on behalf of your firm. I know it's incomprehensible that we have to do this, but we at AIA COTE Advocacy think the US Federal Emergency Management Agency's removal of the term "climate change" from all their strategic planning documents is evidence of an...
