Sydney's Olympic Village Goes Solar...

A plan including photovoltaics, extensive energy conservation measures, and reduced environmental impacts helped a team led by Lend Lease Corp. Ltd. and Mirvac Ltd. win the contract to build the Olympic Village for the year 2000 Games. The Village, which will likely support the largest residential PV system in the world, is designed to house 15,300 athletes and staff during the games, and to provide housing for Sydneyites afterwards. The Rocky Mountain Institute’s (RMI) Green Development Services, represented by

EBN Advisory Board member Bill Browning, is a member of the successful team. RMI will provide international benchmarking and technical review for the project.
