Breaking the Barriers Student Design Competition
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Navy are sponsoring a student design competition, Breaking Through Barriers: Balancing Ecology and Economics, to help identify options for what to do with a military base being decommissioned. A key requirement of the competition is that teams must be interdisciplinary, including (at a minimum) students from architecture, engineering, environmental science, and economics. Architect Gail Lindsey is coordinating the competition. Submissions are due December 30, 1996, and winners will be announced at the 1997 Green Building Conference.
