AIA Top Ten Solicitation

Project submittal is now underway for the annual American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten Green Projects competition, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. The competition is intended to recognize projects that integrate the best practices of sustainable design into appropriate and beautiful design solutions. The panel of jurors will include Peter Bohlin, FAIA, of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson; Carol Ross Barney, FAIA, of Ross Barney + Jankowsky; Drury Crawley, FAIA, U.S. Department of Energy; Jacqueline Rose, AIA, Environmental Protection Agency; and Douglas Kelbaugh, FAIA. Any new construction or renovation project is eligible, as long as it was designed by an architect licensed in the U.S. and completed within the last ten years. Both physical project boards and a series of online forms must be completed by February 14 (early registration), or March 3 (final deadline). Details on online submission are at

www.aiatopten.org. Winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, and will be featured in a May 1 lecture at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., and in a presentation at the AIA Convention in San Diego on May 9.
