Ecohouse Design Competition

Awards & Competitions

Architectural Press and Elsevier Publishers, in conjunction with Teachers in Architecture and the Circle 33 Housing Group, have announced the

2004 Design Competition for an Ecohouse. The competition is based on the principles described in the book

Ecohouse 2. Author Sue Roaf says the challenge is “to create an Ecohouse that is comfortable, with areas of real ‘thermal delight’ … and able to survive without relying on a great deal of fossil fuel.” The competition is open to architecture students, and submissions are due August 31, 2004.
