ASHRAE Energy Standards in the News

The ANSI/ASHRAE/IENSA Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings 90.1-1999 will replace the 90.1-1989 edition. States have until July 15, 2004 to certify that their own energy codes are at least as stringent as 90.1-1999 or demonstrate why they should not be held to the standard. Since only New York and New Jersey currently reference the 1999 version, the decision has far-reaching implications.
