AstroPower and Schott Introduce New PV Systems

AstroPower Inc. released in November a new line of residential solar electric power systems featuring arrays that directly replace conventional roof tiles. The system, part of AstroPower’s SunChoice™ program, includes a power meter so that homeowners can easily monitor performance. More information is at www.astropower.com.

Schott Applied Power Corporation has also expanded its collection of photovoltaic systems. The SunRoof FS is a freestanding solar electric system designed for flat-roofed commercial buildings. The system requires neither roof penetration nor ballast. Its stainless steel base is lightweight but designed to withstand severe weather, including winds of up to 100 miles per hour (45 m/s).
