Hi SDL!
Our CM recently offered up the possibility of substituting Pozzotive into our structural and paving concrete mix (www.pozzotive.com) on a large public building. Apparently it is on a level with the cost of standard cement.
We are eager to reduce the project's embodied carbon, and this seems almost too good to be true.

Morning SDL,
Working on a midwest lab and trying to make the case for electrification in a slower greening grid with a reluctant MEP team. Here are a few sources I have checked for case studies:

I was recently asked if there is a way to quantify financially what one MT eCO2 might be worth in the context of a building owner reducing their own carbon emissions. How do you put a dollar value on those reductions? Does anyone have experience with that or can you point me to the correct resource to answer this question?

Hello,
I will be in NYC for Regenerative Metropolis event at the end of Climate Week NYC. Is anyone else going to Climate Week? Did any events seem particularly worth attending? I've not been before but the only thing I've signed up to is the Nature-Inspired Solutions for a Sustainable Future on Wednesday night at COOKFOX.

Greetings to the Green Commons!
Those of you who attended Greenbuild may remember that during one of the keynotes, Ali Zaidi - White House National Climate Advisor, announced that the White House was developing a definition for "Zero Emissions Buildings" (here’s a [LINK] to a related Washington Post article). The draft language for the... Read more

There are a number of clear finish options available, from natural oils and low-toxicity products primarily used on residential woodwork through factory-applied finishes where specific aesthetics and/or added durability are required (such as those used on cabinetry or commercial architectural millwork). Nadav is moderating! It would be great to have some of you great leaders in attendance. We still have sponsorship opportunities. Let me know if you are interested.

Embodied carbon in products and existing buildings. What does LCA tell us about renovation vs. new construction and material choices?
Guiding Questions:
What easy ways are there to communicate about embodied carbon? Are there easy ways to calculate it? What do I need to know about LCA? Are there any found patterns of when it... Read moreProduct Guide

Hi all,
Here's a good follow up to Maria's steel question on Monday. We have a Midwest project that unfortunately (from a carbon perspective) is required to use a traditional, thick precast facade. We’re working with the contractor and potential future (not yet bid out) fabricators to determine an appropriate % of pozzolanic material... Read more

Hi GGs,
We are looking to do a renovation of a very leaky old office space, and we want to get a good snapshot of air quality and effective envelope R values both before and after.
Does anyone have experience with:
1. installing heat flux sensors on windows and walls
2. deploying IAQ measurement devices that can log... Read more

I'm passing on an alarming (and truly Orwellian!) message from the AIA that some may have received:
The AIA is aware (and has been actively addressing) that there is a draft executive order circulating for consideration by White House officials that would officially designate “classical” architecture as the preferred style for the... Read more
