The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the winners of its 11th annual EnergyValue Housing Awards at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida, in January 2005. Funded through DOE’s Building America Program and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, with support from several private sponsors, including BuildingGreen, Inc., the awards program is designed to promote and improve the energy efficiency of new homes in the U.S.
John Wesley Miller Companies, builder of the Tucson, Arizona, urban infill project Armory Park del Sol, was named
Builder of the Year. Other winners were awarded in five categories (affordable, custom or demonstration, factory-built, multifamily, and production) and in three climate regions (cold, moderate, and hot). All of the winners are profiled at www.nahbrc.org/evha/.
