FSC and FPS Announce Design Award

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Forest Products Solutions (FPS) have announced a call for submissions for the first annual Designing and Building with FSC Award. Projects will be judged on the use of wood, inclusion of FSC-certified wood, efforts to progress certified forest products market transformation, overall wood design, and appropriate wood use. To be eligible, the project must have been completed during or since 2002, and at least half of its new wood, by cost, must have been FSC certified. The award is open to any project team member for any type of building. Submissions are due September 16, 2005, and winners will be announced during the USGBC’s Greenbuild conference in November.
