Green Dollhouse Competition Announced

“The competition goal is simple,” explains the

Green Dollhouse Web site: “Inspire lots of people (big and little) to take steps to make their own homes a little healthier and easier on the environment.” Design professionals and students are encouraged to design and build their own dollhouses for this competition, which was dreamed up by the Sustainable San Mateo County Green Building Task Force. Houses will be judged according to two criteria—whether they are “dishy doll dwellings” and whether they offer “great green guidance” on environmentally responsible home design. The jury includes David Arkin, AIA, of Arkin Tilt Architects; Jennifer Roberts, author of

Good Green Homes (see

EBN

Vol. 13, No. 3); and other green design and dollhouse experts. Applications are due October 14, 2004, and the houses must be delivered by December 15. Details are online at www.greendollhouse.org.
