Mobil spinning off Trex?

Mobil Corp. has sold its Composite Products Division to Trex Company, LLC, a corporation formed by four company managers. One of the new owners, Andrew Ferrari, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, told

EBN that the company direction will not change. A fifth production line at the company’s Winchester, Virginia, plant operates around the clock, seven days a week, says Ferrari, and funding is in place for a sixth line. Building a second plant may be considered after that. The company currently has 135 employees. Ferrari said that 85% of Trex’s market is residential decking, and the fastest growing sales area is on the West Coast.
