NAHB Research Center's Green Building Awards
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center has announced the winners of its third annual National Green Building Awards, “to honor and encourage builders, programs, advocates, and products in the advancement of environmentally friendly residential construction.” This year’s winners are:
•Green Advocate of the Year: Peter Pfeiffer, principal at Barley + Pfeiffer Architects of Austin, Texas;•Green Project of the Year, Affordable Category: Artistic Homes of Albuquerque, New Mexico;
•Green Project of the Year, Production Category: McStain Neighborhoods of Boulder, Colorado;
•Green Project of the Year, Custom Category: Coho Construction Services, Inc. of Portland, Oregon;
•National Green Building Program of the Year, New Category: Seattle’s Built Green™ program, coordinated by the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties, Washington;
•National Green Building Program of the Year, Established Category: The Green Building Program of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver, Colorado;
•Outstanding Green Product of the Year: Bio-Base 500, a semi-rigid, soybean-based foam insulation from Bio-Based Systems of Rogers, Arkansas.
