The Use of Recycled Wood and Paper in Building Applications

Proceedings of conference held in September 1996. Forest Products Society, 2801 Marshall Court, Madison, Wisconsin 53705; 608/231-1361; 608/231-2152 (fax); www.forestprod.org. Paperback, 224 pages, $55 for non-members, plus $5 postage and handling.

The conference was excellent, called one of the best in recent years by many of the attendees. The Forest Products Society has done a superb job in assembling these proceedings—which include all of the presentations at the conference. To get a good sense of what is happening in the world of recycled wood and paper use for building products and building applications, this is the source you need. Included are papers on wood waste supplies and markets, recycling methods, new building materials produced from recycled materials, innovative recycled wood-plastic and wood-cement composites, issues relating to recycled CCA-treated wood, and regulatory issues. If you didn’t make it to the conference, the proceedings are a worthwhile consolation.
