Viridian Building Earns LEED 2.0

LEED certification of the Viridian Building

in Lake Oswego, Oregon brings to three the total number of buildings certified to date under the LEED™ 2.0 Rating System. The other two are the Cambria Office Building in Edensburg, Pennsylvania (see

EBN

Vol. 10, No. 4) and the PNC Firstside Center in Pittsburgh (see

EBN

Vol. 10, No. 5). Designed by Thompson Vaivoda & Associates Architects, Inc., the 15,000 ft2 (1,400 m2) Viridian Place is home to the West-side showroom for The Neil Kelly Company, a design-build home remodeling company and producer of environmentally friendly kitchen cabinets and millwork (see

EBN

Vol. 7, No. 8). The building also includes offices for Blazer Development, a commercial and residential developer, and CES NW, a civil engineering firm. The three companies formed RTJ Partnership to develop the building, which was completed in August 2000. Blazer Development was the general contractor for the project, and CES NW provided civil engineering services. The building’s “Certified” level LEED rating was facilitated by Portland-based Green Building Services. LEED’s rating levels are Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
