Introducing BuildingGreen.com

By the time you read this,

EBN’s Internet presence, including our Web site and e-mail addresses, will be at the BuildingGreen.com domain. Ebuild.com, the cyber-identity we grew up with, is being sold to a leading publisher in the homebuilding industry. We’re excited about the change for two reasons: 1) the proceeds will enable us to improve services to our subscribers; and 2) the new name better describes what we’re about.

As the Internet has exploded, the name ebuild has gained a lot of value to others, while losing its usefulness to us. Back in 1995, when we set up our Web site, we chose that name thinking “e” for environment or eco. As we all know, however, today “e” stands for electronic, as in “e-mail,” “e-commerce,” and the host of e-sites on the Web. To those who don’t know us, the name ebuild no longer signifies much of anything about the environment.

Proceeds from the sale of the ebuild domain name will allow our newly renamed company, BuildingGreen, Inc., to expand in several ways to serve you better. Over time, our goal is to make the BuildingGreen.com Web site into the premier online source for information on green building, much as

EBN has become in the periodical world. Our expanded technical staff, with the addition of Peter Yost and Rod Francis, is also helping us expand our capabilities.

As we grow, we are working hard to remain accessible and responsive to your needs, so please keep your letters, comments, and suggestions coming! You can contact any of us by e-mail using our first names (for example, alex@buildinggreen.com). And please update your browser bookmarks and links to

www.buildinggreen.com.
