High-Performance Buildings Database Released
Anyone can register and enter a project into the database. Entering a project in detail can take several hours, so the system allows users to save and return to a project as many times as necessary. Once an entry is submitted, it is reviewed for publication on DOE’s Web site. Other organizations (including BuildingGreen) are planning to display projects from the database on their own Web sites. Projects can be published with an overview screen alone, or with up to 11 additional screens containing details on the design process, financing, green performance, lessons learned, and other topics. Projects need not be completed to be included, although it is expected that entries for unfinished projects will be updated after they are built.
