GreenSpec on the Way!

GreenSpec on the Way!

Our brand-new

GreenSpec™ should be shipping by about the time you receive this issue!

GreenSpec replaces the widely acclaimed

EBN Product Catalog, which was published in conjunction with What’s Working of Boulder, Colorado and is now sold out. The

GreenSpec title is provided courtesy of Kalin Associates in Boston, who published a product directory of the same name in 1996.

GreenSpec is quite different from our earlier

Product Catalog; it is also really two publications. The GreenSpec product directory is a bound, 300-page directory of more than 1,200 building products that were carefully selected by the editors of

EBN for their environmental characteristics.

EBN Products Editor Dwight Holmes has been working almost exclusively on our products database for the past year! Hundreds of products have been added and—because we tightened our standards—quite a few have been eliminated as well. Listings include product descriptions, environmental characteristics, and complete contact information—including Web addresses where available. The

GreenSpec product directory is organized by the 16-division CSI format. Also included in the directory is guideline specification language written by Larry Strain of Siegel & Strain Architects (first published under the title “Green-Spec” and more recently as “Resourceful Specifications”). This language can be adapted by the user to fit the needs of a particular project.

The other publication is the GreenSpec Binder, which includes the

GreenSpec product directory along with more than 135 pages of manufacturers’ product literature—all packaged into a large 3-ring binder. Manufacturers of products included in the

GreenSpec product directory were invited to provide literature (plus a fee) to be in the

GreenSpec Binder. The literature provides photos and additional information about the products.

The

GreenSpec Binder sells for $99 ($75 for

EBN subscribers), plus $9 shipping in the U.S. The

GreenSpec product directory by itself sells for $79 ($59 for

EBN subscribers), plus $6 shipping in the U.S. and $12 elsewhere. Call

EBN at 800/861-0954 or 802/257-7300 to order by phone, or order securely on our Web site:
