When is the building considered occupied?

December 5, 2017

Hi. For the 10 month post-occupancy commissioning - when is the post-occupancy considered started. When all occupants (100%) have moved into the house and all equipment is up and running? Or when 80% have moved into the building?

Kind regards, Lise

Hi - is it possible to paint the pavement to get the wanted SRI-value for the non-roof? And is there any specific requirements for such a paint?

Distance between bicycle storage and bicycle network

Distance between bicycle storage and bicycle network

October 19, 2017

Hi.

"Design or locate the project such that a functional entry or bicycle storage is within a 200-yard (180-meter) walking distance or bicycling distance from a bicycle network"

For a project (office/commercial) where the main entrances and several functional entraces are within 180 m from the bike network, but the occupants bike storage is placed in a parking basement underneath the office (more than 180 from the public bike network since you have to bike through the parking basement, but right next to the elevator leading up to the office), are we then meeting the requirements?

Labelling of waste containers

Labelling of waste containers

October 18, 2017

Hi.

A quick question, which I have not been able to find an answer to in the LEED manual. When labelling our waste containers is it a LEED requirement that it must be in english or is it al right that the labelling on-site is in danish and we under the photos (inspection and documentation photos) translate the label into english?

Kind regards, Lise

Is inputting meters in the Whole Building model a MBCx requirement?

Is inputting meters in the Whole Building model a MBCx requirement?

October 13, 2017

Hi. Is it understood correctly that all energy, water and electrical meters (we have a lot more meters than even required by LEED) are not required to be entered into the Whole Building Simulation in order to compare the calculated with the actual measured for each meter?

Is it correct that this is not a requirement?

Use of Whole Building model to predict the energy consumption for each meter

Use of Whole Building model to predict the energy consumption for each meter

October 11, 2017

Hi.

Hope some can help.

In the LEED 2009 version you had to enter the energy consumption for the different measured systems from the Whole building simulation in ordre to see in the future if these values wass equal to the actual measured values. This was mostly to compare if the calculated energy consumption values (ventilation, lighting, etc.) = actual measured values.

In LEED v4, is it correctly understood that the Building-level metering and Advanced Metering have replaced the M&V plan for LEED v2009? And is there nowhere in LEED v4, where the actual energy consumption per meter have to be compared to the actual value measured?

Basically - if we have 1500 meters installed in the building - is it ever a requirement to find the energy consumption PR METER in the Whole building simulation in order to later compare it to the actual measured values during the Commissioning phase? And what if we "only" have the required LEED meters instlled - would we then have to extract the energy consumption per meter form the whole building simulation, or is it enough with have then grouped as the calculated energy consumption for Ventilation, lighting, pumps, PV cells, etc.?

Kindest regards, Lise

Pilot - option 1 - EPD

Pilot - option 1 - EPD

August 3, 2017

Hi.

As we are finalizing our last credits for approval of a project, a couple of question have come up in regards to this Pilot credit, option 1, EPD.

We have a total of 25 EPDs (weighted) as prescribed. Should the actual EPD's not be uploaded to LEEDonline?

And also - cost is mentioned may times in the calculator, but this was never part of the actual option 1. So de we just leave the cost out of the calculation?

Hope someone can guide me in the right direction.

Best regards, Lise

Construction Waste management

Construction Waste management

What if you have two buildings each persuing LEED certification both build by the same contractor but two owners. How do you seperate the waste amount from both building? Is a floor area distribution possible? To make it even more tricky, one building is a new construction and the other is a core and shelle project. Anyone had a similar chalenge?

Kitchen

June 21, 2016

Hello,
I am having a lot of difficulty finding a (European) kitchen that qualifies for this credit. The suppliers and manufacturers we tend to use here in Denmark all have various sustainability certifications, however they have none of the LEED-recognized labels. Recommendations of high quality kitchens that qualify as low-emitting are most welcome!
Thanks very much.

Open Space: Fence

Open Space: Fence

April 19, 2016

Hello,
I'm trying to assess how much of our project site qualifies as open space. A large percentage of the site is extensively maintained grass and woodland planting, however there is a security fence separating the buildings from the green perimeter area (which is generous). There is green, open space on both sides of the fence, but the areas inside are accessible only to staff. My question is, does the open space on both sides of the fence count for the credit? Or does open space have to be publically accessible? Thanks!
