The documentation required of an innovation in design credit is a narrative that describes the credit intent, requirements, list of proposed submittals, design approach, and the proposed submittals. If a credit was created from scratch or borrowed from another rating system, what documentation is required to demonstrate that the requirements are "significantly better than standard sustainable design practices"? 

Hello, does anyone know if social housing can be counted as "affordable housing" for this credit? The units are not rented or for sale, but are for support communities / residents from a wide range of economic levels, household sizes, and age groups to live in a community. Two example of social housing would be: http://www.kfs.bc.ca and http://karis-society.org Thank you

I am working with a Francophone school in Canada who wish to pursue the School as a Teaching Tool innovation credit. We have run into a snag in that the USGBC learning lab is available only in English or Spanish. Is there a French version in the works or an acceptable alternative?

I understand that with the v4 views calculations that gymnasiums may be excluded from the calculations but I was curious if other related areas such as dedicated fitness class studios, women's only fitness rooms, and open fitness areas where cardio machines or weight equipment can also be excluded?

Privacy is an issue for women's only fitness rooms and I don't feel like having a view is an important requirement while someone is taking an instructed fitness class.

Any thoughts on these?

Could someone please confirm whether Epoxy Flooring systems would fall under the Paints and Coatings Category under Floor Coating OR would it fall under the Flooring category?  The reference guide does not specifically mention Epoxy Flooring under the Flooring Category.

Hi, 

Our project is a factory that produces roofing products, we target LEED v4 silver. The building consists of an office space, a manufacturing space and a storage space. The manufacturing  process requires chilled water and we would like to know if this equipment might be considered in the scope of this credit.  From my point of view, it doesn't. This equipment is not part of the scope of works supervised by the HVAC engineer and will be installed directly by our client (who manufactures roof products). 

Any ideas ?

As a canadian project do we also have to complete the survey as part of the documentation?

Are existing light fixtures required to be included in the calculations for both options?

Is it possible to account for externally-produced renewable fuels in the "total energy use" calculation?

In other words, is it possible to purchase a direct natural gas offset instead of carbon offset?

For example, Bullfrog (an EcoLogo certified supplier) offers "green natural gas" by supplying natural gas from landfills. If this were purchased along with green power, would the project be able to demonstrate 100%?
