Experience achieving this credit, EApc95?

October 15, 2018

Hello all,

This pilot credit can significantly benefit projects located in a "clean energy" grid, particularly with the cost difference between electricity ($$$) and natural gas ($) and natural gas is demonstrating the most energy savings. Has anyone used this pilot credit to take advantage of the points increase that can be  found from their  grid and the large positive GHG savings?

It is my understanding that one of the reasons why certain projects do not apply for pilot credits is the risk is achieving them, having not experienced the review process with these credits before or having it close at an unexpected time. My attempt here is to provide a prompt on this forum for users to share their positive/ or negative experiences in achieving this credit so that "risk" is more understood.

Best Regards,

Option 2 - Is there still a minimum sample area requirement?

Option 2 - Is there still a minimum sample area requirement?

October 9, 2018

I am quoting to provide Option 2 IAQ testing for my first V4 BD+C project. In the USGBC online reference guide, I don't see a reference to a maximum square footage per sample; instead the focus appears to be mainly on types of spaces for a given ventilation area and floor. However, some examples and 3rd-party guidance I've found online have referenced a 5,000 square feet (465 square meters) maximum area for common space types (office, residential, etc.) and a larger, 50,000 square feet (4,654 square meters) maximum area for warehouses and other larger spaces. Would anyone know whether there is currently a maximum?

Thanks very much!

Pilot Credit: INpc113 - Informing Design Using Triple Bottom Line Analysis

September 24, 2018

Hello,

Has anyone used Autocase to complete this pilot credit? I used it to prepare the triple bottom line analysis for my 2009 project. There were a few variations, for example, for low-emitting materials I had to count the number of EQc4.x credits we achieved and report that as the number of categories. I did spend a lot of time trying to make sense of it but my report is complete and I plan to submit for an Innovation credit as per CIR 1312.

I'd like to hear others' experience with this pilot credit.

Small Project BoD

Small Project BoD

September 24, 2018

I picked up a project in my firm after the first review was compelted. It seems that a BoD was never created for this project, as it is very small and the CxA was hired late. Is anyone aware of any CIRs or does anyone have any experience with an "informal" BoD?

Hi,

Do any of you have a recommendation on where to find a 3rd-party APPA auditor? This is for a project in BC, Canada. Thanks in advance!

Connectivity within a Big Box Store Shopping Centre

Connectivity within a Big Box Store Shopping Centre

September 7, 2018

What is considered an intersection within a parking lot of a Big Box Store shopping centre. There are a number of commuting roads intersecting between stores and there are many aisles of parking as well. Is each intersection with an aisle of parking considered an intersection? I would suggest that this likely does not meet the intent of the credit. However, would the intersection of the main commuting roads between stores be considered an intersection? This seems to meet the intent of the credit as it is providing residents with access to different uses. Do the roads need to be named?

Please let me know if you have any advice on how to document connectivity within an adjacent shopping centre.

Does IT and AV equipment need to be installed prior to IAQ testing?

Does IT and AV equipment need to be installed prior to IAQ testing?

September 7, 2018

Does IT and AV equipment need to be installed prior to IAQ testing? We are moving offices and our IT team will be dismantling and reinstalling AV and IT equipment the weekend prior to our move. This includes monitors, TV's, etc. We have to schedule IAQ testing for a weekday during the day which means our IAQ testing would have to happen the Friday before move-in, at the latest. This means we won't have AV and IT equipment in during testing.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Thanks,
