Heat Island Reduction

September 18, 2020

Our project has 85% of parking covered by the building, but on the roof we have a vegetated area and solar panels. In the credit of Heat Island Reduction can we opt for Option 1?

Energy metered

June 30, 2020

Hello,

We are trying to certify an existing building which have renovated its HVAC facilities recently. Could we obtain points of Optimize Energy Performance doing an energy model simulation instead of providing 12 months of utility bills? If we provide the utility bills, this wont reflect the energy efficiency improvement because the building has not been in operation for 12 months after the refurbishment.

Thanks

Calculating contribution by surface area

Calculating contribution by surface area

April 11, 2020

Hi all!

I have some doubts about how to calculate the surface area that contributes toward this credit.

At least 75% of all wall panels, by cost or surface area, meet the VOC emissions evaluation, the same with insulation. Ceilings and flooring 90%.

My doubt comes when I start calculating surfaces area.

Should we calculate the planar area for each exposed side of the interior material planes (insulation, ceiling, wall panels, etc)?

Designing with Nature - Strategies

Designing with Nature - Strategies

April 10, 2020

We are working in a LEED project which we are pursuing this pilot credit of Designing with Nature, and we are wondering if vinyl in indoor walls with natural representations of leaves of trees and shrubs could be one of the five strategies?

We understand that these elements could be a connection with the nature through natural analogues and evocation of forest elements as artwork and ornamentation.

Thanks in advantage

Energy Model for Unconditioned Warehouse

Energy Model for Unconditioned Warehouse

April 6, 2020

Dear Everyone,

We have a warehouse project located in Spain. It won`t be equipped with heating, nor cooling system. I am not sure how to approach this.

I would like to assume thermostat setpoints due to ASHRAE 55 and simulate loads, next

1. If heating load is above 45 W/m2 - use System 9 for Proposed and Baseline - ( I don`t expect that)

2. If heating is below 45 but cooling is above 15W/m2 ( I expect that) should I use System 3 with cooling and heating setpoints from ASHRAE 55.

3. If they are below defined ASHRAE 90.1 level  (45 W/m2 for heating and 15 W/m2 for cooling) I must treat them as unconditioned. What then? Focus only on lighting and plugloads which can bring me savings?

Can you ensure me that my approach is correct, then answer for variant 3?

Best Regards

LEED v4.1 Residential Multifamily needs a Green Rater and Energy Rater?

LEED v4.1 Residential Multifamily needs a Green Rater and Energy Rater?

February 7, 2020

We are about to register a new project here in Barcelona, Spain.
It is a 30 houses building developed on 7 floors. We want to register it under LEED v4.1 Residential Multifamily. It is a large project and the team has an experienced LEED AP. I understand that it is no longer necessary to have a Green Rater and Energy Rater, is that correct? The Reference Guide does not refer to this topic.
Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a time limit or a deadline from when a project is registered until certification is achieved?

Thank you in advance.
