Hello!

I have an enquiry regarding this credit.

The LEED guide says  that food gardens may be include or exclude in the calculations at the project team discretion.

So if I have a food garden, and I want to exclude it from calculations, do I have to justificate why?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards.

Campus possiblity

July 9, 2019

Hello LEEDusers!

We are working with a new project and we are thinking to a possible campus certification. The team has a question about it because it would be our first campus certification.

The project has 4 plots with one or more buildings each one.
The connection between these plots is by public street, the project doesn't have private connections.
The most far distance between these plots is 400m, so is it possible realize a Campus certification when the different plots aren't connected?

Thank you in advance.

LTc5 - Heat Island Reduction - examplary performance

July 4, 2019

Hello, I have a doubt about the examplary performance of this credit.

In the project with I am working doesnt has a parking and I achieved the option 1, so at is says in the LEED guide:

"achieve both options 1 and 2. Locate 100% of parking undercover"

May I suppose that I got the examplary performance cause I dont have a parking?

Thank you for your time

Best regards

LTc7 - Reduce parking footprint - examplary performance

Hello!

I got a question regarding the credit LTc7.The project wich I am working with, doesnt have a parking, so, at is says in the leed guide "Projects with no associated off-street parking automatically achieve credit compliance; no calculations or preferred parking spaces are required”, its  asumed that I get the credit point. But my question is about the examplary performamce, do I earn it? I am a liltle confused because to get the examplary performance we need to achieve a 60%80% parking reduction from the base ratios.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards.

WEp Indoor Water Use reduction calculator Tool Calculation

June 4, 2019

Hello! I have an inquiry about a WE credit which I describe below:

At the WEp Indoor Water Use reduction calculator Tool Calculation, in the table "Flush fixture" and "Flow fixture" there is a column that refers to the percentage of occupants, my question is: which is the percentage with I have to fill the table  in the case of men urinals? if we have already taken in to account  the percentage of men that are able to use it in the part that ask “Percent of males expected to use restrooms with urinals”.Thus, Do I have to fill the table with the same percentage in both?

The following is an example case:

If a Building has 8 women restrooms and 8 men restrooms that one of each has an urinal: The value that I have to use in “Percent of males expected to use restrooms with urinals” would be: 1/8 = 12, 5%. Otherwise in the Flush column, fixtures would be:

Female toilet: 100% percent occupants.

Male toilet: 87.5% of occupants.

Urinal: 12.5% percent of occupants?

Am I right?

I will be very thankful If anyone can help me.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards.

Minimin U-Value Warehouse

Minimin U-Value Warehouse

June 4, 2019

Good morning, we have a building in process of LEED BD + C Warehouse ... It is a building made up of a part of offices and a part of a warehouse with an industrial process. The office cover is 2000 m2 while that warehouse 13.000 m2.

The question is about the compliance of ASHRAE 90.1 tables 5.5  for the mininum energia perfomance credits.

In climatic zone 4, for a Sandwidch Panel Roof, the tables requires  a 0,210 W/m2 K for a for non-residential spaces and 0,466 w/m2 k for semiheated ones.

In the office building the project already considers a roof less than 0.210 W / m2K since the spaces are cooled and heated.

But the warehouse is not cooled or heated, only adjusted some degrees in winter and summer.

We understand that it is a semiheated or unconditioned space  and we can project a cover between 0.34-0.41W / m2k that would fulfill the minimum requirement.

If we justify that the space has a sensible cooling load  less than 15W / m2 and a heating load less than 45 W / m2, is it considered an unconditioned space?

And If the heating load is between 10 and 45 W / m2 is it semiheated?

And would we have a limit of 0.466 on the cover?

If it is less than 10W / m2 is it not conditioned? What requirement would the cover and walls have?

Is the same for the v4 and the v4.1?

Boubts about the SSc5 Credit Island Reduction

May 29, 2019

I am wirting to enquire about a project wich I am carryng out.

The doubt is about the credit (SSc5) "Heat Island reduction".

To achieve this credit we will choose the Option 1 that requires to verify the following equation:

Area of nonroof measures/0,5 + Area of high reflectance roof/0,75 + Vegetated roof/0,75 >/=  Total site paving area + Total roof area

So:

- Area of nonroof measures: we understand that these are strategies outside of the roof area.

- Area of high reflectance roof: these are all the roof materials that achieve a SRI  higher than the table indicates.

- Area of vegetated roof: the vegetal roof.

- Total site paving area: paved area.

-Total roof area: it is assumed that for get this area must be discounted the m2 that involve solar panels and mechanical equipments: then, we discounted the m2 that correspond to the solar panels, but we have a doubt about the mechanical equipment room.

This mechanical equipment room doesnt have a common cover, it just has metalic slats that are open, so more than a cover its just a shadow element.

Thus, I don't know If I have to count this as a high reflectant area, cause its slats, or as a mechanical equipment room at the roof an discount it to the total roof area indeed.

I will we very thankfull if you can help me.

Looking forward an answer.

Thank you in advance.
