Option 2 - Carbon dioxide monitoring

We are working on a New Construction - Warehouse project that has two separate spaces (offices + warehouses). There are no densely occupied spaces with the expected occupancy considered. Are we still elegible for option 2 - carbon dioxide monitoring by installing CO2 sensors in all occupied spaces (eventhough they are not densely occupied)?

Subtraction metering in C&S

Good morning,

Would like to clarify if subtraction metering may be used in Core & Shell for the base building, although it can be used for New Construction, when it comes to RATING SYSTEM VARIATIONS - Core and Shell it says "Advanced energy metering must be installed for all energy sources used by the base building.."

Could you confirm to me that substraction metering may be used in Core and Shell?

My question is about the multiply certification. 

A multinational company wants to certificate its stores, but all of its stores are identical (prototype).
so, it is possible create a certification LEED prototype of them? how?
and, if it is not possible, is it exist another type of certification to these cases?

our project has achieved the design phase of LEED review.
We are working in construction phase, and we have some distribution interiors differences from design phase approved. 

My quiestion is, must we reopened the design phase? or, can we submit construction phase following the process?

Hi everyone, 

I'm working on a School project in v2009 and I have some doubts whether the lighting controls design would meet credit requirements. I have two different cases:

 - Individual occupant spaces: a private office with presence detector and photocell would meet credit requirements?

 - Shared multi-occupant spaces: a meeting room with an on/off switch complies with credit requirements?

Non potable water for irrigation and toilets flush

Hello! 

I have two sources of non-potable water in the project: gray and rainwater. These two sources, combined, are enough to supply my irrigation demand and also toilets flush for the whole year.

Question 1: given two non-potable water demands (irrigaton and toilets) is it mandatory to prioritize the distribution of water for irrigation? It sounds me I have seen this issue before but I coundt find it anywhere...

Qestion 2: to fill in the WEc2 template can I use the amount of rainwater + gray water in a single row? If no, how do I divide this amount of water from each of the sources since they all go to the same tank after beign treated?

Hello! I have a LEED NC project that is already operating and we are now finishing DR+CR submittals. The client provided the required spaces for bike racks and showers as required by LEED, but, in practice, these bicycle-parking spaces are being used for motorcycle aswell.

The project its a little bit isolated form the city and not very well conected in terms of transportation. In photos and satelite views of the project this situation it can also be seen and we are worried of losing this points since the client has indeed provided this facility, although its not used very often...Whats the solution? Forbide the usage of these spaces by motorcycles? Or shared usage is permitted in such case?

How many strategies are necessary to comply with Option 2?

Hello,

The LEED CI guide states: Option 2. Additional enhanced IAQ strategies (1 point). Comply with the following requirements, as applicable. So, I understood that if there is a chance where you can comply with all of them, you have to (not like in the BD+C guide, where you only have to comply with one of them). But then, I see that the Exemplary Performance for this credit states: Achieve both Option 1 and Option 2 and incorporate an additional Option 2 strategy.

What does it mean? An additional strategy that you think it can benefit the indoor air quality? Or is because you only have to comply with one strategy and if you comply with more tan one you get an extra point?

I am a little bit confused! Thank you in advance!

Split certification doubts

Split certification doubts

Good morning, 
We have some doubts regarding the possibility of doing a split certification (one for the design credits and another one for the construction credits). All the LEED certifications we have done until now have been combined, but we have one client now that is asking us for a split certification. Our doubts with this split certification are:
 - Is it possible to leave some of the credits marked as design credits out of the design review and submit them for review at the end (in the construction phase review)?
 - If an already checked and awarded credit in the design phase suffers modifications during the construction phase, how is that expected to be reflected in LEED certification?

Rule 1113 and 1168

Rule 1113 and 1168

Can somebody confirm if the limits listed in rule 1168 (adhesives and sealants) and rule 1113 (paints and coatings) will be accepted for wet applied products in LEED v4 EQc7? just with a manufacturer letter that states the content in g/l ?

We understand that for NC v4 projects it is necessary to justify content+emissions but for HOMES we are not sure.
