ERV serving 3 different tenants

ERV serving 3 different tenants

June 12, 2015

We have a project where the building is three separate retail tenants all being served by a single ERV that is supplying 100% of the space outdoor air. Space one has a duct from the ERV directly into the RTU while space 2 and 3 just have ducts from the ERV directly into their space.
Our question is do we need to supply outdoor airflow monitoring devices to monitor the cfm of outdoor air being delivered from the ERV to each tenant space or is one OAF monitor on the intake of the ERV enough? (RTUs bring in people load of outdoor air and have OAF monitors)

EQc5 - Parking Garages

EQc5 - Parking Garages

June 1, 2015

We have a multi story underground parking structure that is exhausted with 26,000cfm P1, 32,000 cfm for P2 and P3. The exhaust fans run 24/7 and are controlled by a manual switch that is never turned off. Our calculations show that we far exceed the pressure for both categories however for levels P2 and P3 we do not meet the .5cfm per ft2. In order to meet the .5cfm per ft2 the exhaust fans would have to be almost 60,000 cfm, however this would greatly increase the pressure within the space to about 30. Is it possible to submit showing that we far exceed the pressure needed for the space yet not have the required .5cfm/ft2? Has anyone had any luck this way?

Storm dry pond onsite overflows to stormceptor

Pre condition - open field and grass, a few trees.

Post Condition: Development of a large military type vechicle building with loading docks and paved circulation drive area. Runoff from the site goes to two large grassed dry retention ponds with overflow to a Stormceptor system and than discharges off site.

Does an indoor sewage pit need exahust for EQc5?

May 25, 2015

We have a project where there is a sewage pit located on floor P2 of the parking garage. It's in a separate enclosed room and the question is whether or not it needs to be exhausted and included in calculations for EQc5.

Thanks for the help!

calculating peak visitors for a multi-unit residential building

calculating peak visitors for a multi-unit residential building

May 4, 2015

LEED 2009, would consider 10% of dwelling units or 4 (refer to SLLc4 equation 2) bicycle storage for visitors.
LEED v4 requires short-term bicycle storage for at least 2.5% peak visitors. Is there a methodology to calculate peak visitors?

Manufacturer Declaration Letter

May 3, 2015

We completed the design of our project in 2013 and start construction in 2014. Some of the Declaration letters we received from the Manufacture (To Whom it may Concern) are dated before the start of our project. Is this acceptable or do I have to ask the contractor to provide an updated one.

Thanks

Does restaurant dishwashers qualify as waste water?

Does restaurant dishwashers qualify as waste water?

April 16, 2015

I am wondering if I can include a restaurant dishwasher in my waste water calculations for WEc2?
According to the reference guide waste water is defined as
"the spent or used water from a home, community, farm, or industry that contains dissolved or suspended matter."
Since water from a dishwasher will include dissolved and suspended matter I am assuming I can include it in my WEc2 calculations.
Am I right in assuming this?

Is there a certain requirement/specification to use concrete that has been crushed from other sites as a material for another site? If so,where would it be and under what item would be it classified?

Previously Developed or Not

Previously Developed or Not

March 31, 2015

Our current project is located on a plot of land that 3/4 of it was developed into commercial retail. It "appears" that the last quarter had electricity and water mains laid out for a future commercial development, however it has grown over with grassy vegetation. The site has now been rezoned and a mixed use commercial/residential 10 story building is going to be constructed.
My question is since it has grown to look some what like a greenfield is it classified as undeveloped or is it previously developed since it has been graded previously and does appear to contain some infrastructure below the "green field".

Thank you to anyone who helps!
